AWS Direct Connect is now available at Digital Realty’s data center facilities located in downtown Atlanta. Customers who use AWS Direct Connect get a direct, low latency, highly resilient, secure connection to Amazon Web Services. The on-ramp will strengthen Digital Realty’s overall cloud connectivity solution set by providing more options for leveraging AWS to support mission-critical hybrid applications.
Atlanta is now our third largest colocation and interconnection market, after only New York and Chicago. Our facility at 56 Marietta presents the densest ecosystem for interconnection-rich applications in the Southeast, providing the ideal home for AWS to expand their addressable markets through local enterprises, partners, and networks. We have had some exciting developments in Atlanta, including the significant expansion to our Atlanta Connected Campus with the addition of the 250 Williams facility, the launch of Service Exchange which provides cost-effective, multi-cloud strategies, and the ability to reach peering speeds of 100Gbps and beyond through our Digital Realty Internet Exchange (DRIX).
With more than 13,000 technology companies, the Atlanta market is an ideal interconnection location for enterprises, telecommunications providers and cloud providers who are looking for low risk of natural disasters, low costs, reliable power, and strong fiber infrastructure and peering capabilities.
